For the first half of Monday, we went to the Cambodia Genocide Museum with Carol Ghin (wife of missionary John) from City Light Church in Los Angeles. We bore witness to the atrocities against the Khmer people and were reminded of the need for the gospel in this country.
We were able to take a rest stop out of the heat at Brown Coffee (the largest coffee shop chain in Cambodia) and spend time with Carol.
We had lunch with Brennan and Becca McCafferty, missionaries from Minnesota. We got to hear about the work they are doing to train local pastors while raising their three children. Afterwards, the ladies hit the Central Market for some shopping while the guys found a coffee shop to rest and get ready for the service.
In the evening, the LFPC team led worship for the MTW team to encourage them on the marathon of ministry and missions. Andy preached on Mark 4:30-32, helping to encourage the missionaries on the ground that the kingdom of God is like a mustard seed, it may be small and hidden but it is unstoppable! Solomon led the Call to Worship and Jimin led the Congregational Prayer. Charlene, Michael, and Hayes led the time of music and singing.
Later, we broke bread with the team at a local restaurant, Jars of Clay. Most folks went home, and some of the guys went to play basketball with other brothers from the local church in Phnom Penh.
